How to Maintain the Condition of Your Rosewood Furniture

Rosewood furniture needs extra care to make sure it will last for a long time without losing its quality. Taking care of wood furniture is slightly different compared to other type of furniture. To help you keep your rosewood furniture in a good condition, this article will briefly describe some useful tips.

The following list will explain briefly about some things you can do to maintain the condition of your rosewood furniture.
• There are some ways to get rid of the hazy white spot or ring that is created by your hot mug or pizza box on the table. The best and recommended way is to wipe the stains with a light abrasive solution, such as a mixture of ashes and cooking oil or a mixture of baking soda and non-gel toothpaste. Rub one of these mixtures on the stains using a finger, if the spots are small, or soft clothes, for larger areas.
• Your rosewood furniture does not need to be enriched or nourished with oils or polishes. Once the furniture has been given a finish that protect the wood for beauty and durability, you cannot ‘feed’ the wood. Any oils or polishes will not be able to penetrate this finish, so do not waste your money on something useless.
• If your rosewood furniture has metal hardware, you can polish it. However, make sure to remove it from the furniture first. Mark which hardware you take off and where it should be placed after polishing. To make it shine again, use a metal polish with high quality. After you buff the metal hardware, carefully place it back to where it belongs to avoid scratching the furniture surfaces. It is recommended to do this procedure gradually as it can be a lot of works. Take several days and do several pieces at one time.
• To make chips and scratches less visible at the furniture feet, you can use a color shoe polish that suits the color of your furniture. This tips can also serve as an easy touch up to your furniture. For a better result, you can use a felt-tip matching-color marker carefully beforehand. It will hide the chips and scratches way better.

The previous paragraph already elaborate some tips to keep your furniture in a good condition. Other than rosewood, these tips are generally applicable for almost all wood furniture. You can do it regularly to maintain the condition, but do not do it too frequently.
